Sony BDV-HZ970W Originally introduced in 2010 at $800, but now on clearance, the Sony BDV-HZ970W 3D Blu-ray 5.1 home theater system in a box pictured to the right was Sony's first ever 3D-capable Blu-ray HTIB system to feature two 3D-ready HDMI inputs for easily connecting OPTIONAL HDMI-capable source components such as an HDTV tuner/DVR and video game console. Of course, it's also got an HDMI output with Audio Return Channel to run to your high definition television or video projector. HDMI cables are sold separately!
It's a "wireless" home theater system in two ways. First, Sony's S-AIR wireless technology lets you connect the two rear surround speakers wirelessly to reduce wire clutter (you will still need an AC outlet in the back of your room for power). Second, you can stream Netflix movies and TV episodes, Amazon Video On Demand, Slacker, YouTube, etc, and even download future firmware updates wirelessly via Wi-Fi.
The USB input lets you connect your digital camera or iPod. Speaking of iPods, if you've got an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can turn it into a way-cool remote control by downloading a free app! |
